The History Behind Changelings Today, I heard a claim floated by one of my friends that in medeival Europe, neurodivergent people (including autistic folk) were cast off into forests under the claim of being ‘changelings.’ I don’t know how much I believe that, and here, I’m gonna try to find out what a changeling actually was, and find out whether or not it’s a real claim.
