Why is Yellow Green?

Why is yellow green?

Yellow’s creativity is just bubbling,

so when I sit down to reimagine spring,

why is yellow green?

I want yellow to be yellow so my heart can be mellow,

and so my mind does bellow,

HONESTLY, PLEASE JUST BE YELLOW!

Not gold, orange, or flaxen.

Yellow is yellow &

I wish people wouldn’t hate it so

Oh, I’m not done.

Sometimes yellow is whitened,

and so my heart tightens

I wish it wasn’t that bright,

So I could use it at night.

Yellow is yellow

Blue is blue

But my heart is red

So I’ll just cry in bed.
